PAC led by West Point grad backs Air Force vet-turned-U.S. Senate candidate in CO

Restoration PAC, a group headed by West Point graduate Doug Truax, has launched a statewide ad campaign in Colorado backing U.S. Senate candidate Darryl Glenn, who served in the U.S. for more than 21 years of combined active duty and reserve military service.

Truax, a U.S. Army veteran, graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger School, and president of Oak Brook, IL-based Veritas Risk Services, LLC, ran for U.S. Senate himself in Illinois in 2014.

"Darryl Glenn is just the kind of leader America needs right now in our time of great uncertainty, division and decline," said Truax. "He will put America first. He already has demonstrated that trait through his service in the U.S. Air Force and by speaking forcefully for restoring America's greatness," added Truax. "He'll be a great U.S. Senator."

Truax said his PAC is spending about $800,000 to air an initial 30-second spot in all Colorado media markets. The ad, titled, "Underdog," touts Glenn's military service, labeling him a "tough outsider."

Truax said this is just an initial ad in support of Glenn, whose race he says could be "pivotal" in the fight for control of the U.S. Senate, and said his PAC is committed to supporting candidates who otherwise might be "underfunded." On June 30, 2016 Morning Consult reported that National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Roger Wicker has remained "mum" on whether his committee will support Glenn.
